Title: Cunedda, Cynan, Cadwallon, Cynddyplan. Four Welsh Poems and Britain 383 to 655

Summary: Cunedda, Cynan, Cadwallon, Cynddylan: Four Welsh Poems and Britain 383–655 by John T. Koch studies four early Welsh poems about heroic rulers and uses them to reconstruct political history in Britain between AD 383 and 655, the transitional period from Roman Britain to the early Anglo-Saxon kingdoms. Koch edits, translates, and analyses four early Welsh poems about historical rulers. He treats them as literary sources that preserve memories of real political events during the post-Roman “Heroic Age” of Britain.
