Title: Fashion Tribes. Global Street Style by Daniele Tamagni

Summary: Fashion Tribes: Global Street Style is a photographic book documenting the colourful, distinctive and unconventional fashion cultures of communities across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Through documentary photography, staged portraits and accompanying essays, Daniele Tamagni explores how clothing becomes a powerful means of expressing identity, creativity, belonging and resistance.

Rather than focusing on established fashion capitals such as Paris, London or New York, Tamagni turns his attention to people whose styles emerge from their own social environments, cultural traditions and personal experiences.

The book is particularly valuable for fashion students, photographers, designers and researchers interested in street style, cultural identity and global fashion. Its rich imagery provides inspiration for colour, silhouette, styling and the creative combination of traditional and contemporary dress.

One important consideration is that photographing communities through the idea of a distinctive fashion tribe can risk simplifying complex cultures into visual categories. The accompanying essays help provide social and cultural context, encouraging readers to look beyond appearance alone.
