Title: Grumman F 14 Tomcat all models 1970 – 2006 by Tony Holmes. Haynes Owners Workshop Manual

Summary: The book tells the story of how the F-14 was designed, how it worked, how crews actually operated it, and how its role changed from a long-range fleet-defence interceptor into a precision strike aircraft. It combines technical information with photographs, diagrams and first-person experiences, making it useful both as an introduction to the Tomcat and as a reference for enthusiasts.

One particularly useful aspect is that it doesn't treat the F-14 merely as the aircraft made famous by Top Gun; it puts the Tomcat into its real US Navy operational and combat context. The book also benefited from contributions from F-14 veterans including Cmdr. Dave Baranek and Lt. Cmdr. Dave Parsons.
