Title: Junkers Ju 87 Stuka. All marks and variants 1935 to 45 by Jonathan Falconer. Haynes Owners Workshop Manual

Summary: The book traces the Ju 87 from its pre-war development in the mid-1930s through its combat career during the Second World War. Falconer explains how the distinctive inverted-gull-wing aircraft was developed specifically as a precision dive-bomber and how it became one of the most recognisable symbols of German Blitzkrieg.

A major strength of the book is its technical examination. Rather than concentrating solely on combat history, Falconer looks at the aircraft almost as an engineering manual, covering the fuselage, wings, tail, landing gear, fuel and oil systems, hydraulics, electrical equipment, cockpit, armour and weapons. The book uses numerous photographs, diagrams and technical drawings to explain how the aircraft was constructed and operated.

Falconer's book is a good choice if you want to understand what the Ju 87 was, how its different versions changed, how it worked, and how it was used, rather than a deeply detailed study of individual Stuka units or every combat mission.
