Title: Logs of the Great Sea Fights 1794 to 1805. Volume 1

Summary: Volume I is the first of a two-volume set collecting primary source log entries (from ships’ logs, signal books, and correspondence) covering several major naval engagements between Britain and France during 1794-1805.
In this volume the focus is on three battles:

The actions of Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe (commonly the battle of the 1st of June 1794).

The Battle of Cape St Vincent (14 February 1797)

The Battle of Camperdown (11 October 1797)

Jackson introduces each action with commentary on the sources, context and any fresh light the logs throw on what happened.
