Title: Suffolk Freemasons Year Book AD 2008 – 09

Summary: The Suffolk Freemasons Year Book AD 2008–09 is an annual reference publication produced by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Suffolk.

The year book served as the official handbook for Freemasons in the Province of Suffolk during the 2008–09 Masonic year. It typically included:

  • A message from the Provincial Grand Master outlining priorities and achievements.
  • Calendar of Provincial meetings, ceremonies, and special events.
  • Information on charitable activities and fundraising, particularly preparations for the Provincial Festival supporting the Masonic charitable appeal.
  • Guidance on Masonic protocol, dress, ceremonies, and administrative procedures.
  • Historical notes on Suffolk Freemasonry and Provincial traditions.
  • Useful contact information for Provincial offices and Masonic centres.

The 2008–09 Masonic year was notable because the Province was:

  • Continuing support for local Suffolk charities while building towards its major Provincial Festival in 2009.
  • Expanding educational initiatives, including seminars for Almoners and newly raised Master Masons.
  • Promoting new lectures and oration schemes to improve members' knowledge.
  • Recovering from flood damage to the Provincial archives by relocating and preserving historical records.
  • Celebrating the consecration of The Countryside Lodge of Suffolk No. 9830, one of the Province's newest lodges at the time.

Overall, the year book functioned as both an administrative directory and a historical record, helping members stay informed about lodge activities, Provincial governance, ceremonial practice, and charitable work throughout Suffolk Freemasonry.
