Title: The History of Building Regulation in London 1189 to 1972 by C.C. Knowles and P.H. Pitt

Summary: This book is a historical survey of how building control in London evolved over nearly 800 years. It traces the development of building laws, standards, and enforcement systems in London, showing how regulation gradually shifted from ad hoc local controls to a formalised, professional system of building control.
