Title: Violet. The life and loves of Violet Gordon-Woodhouse 1871 – 1948 by Jessica Douglas Home. A Special Limited Edition

Summary: This book is a biography of Violet Gordon-Woodhouse, an extraordinary English musician whose life combined musical genius, unconventional relationships, social privilege and personal eccentricity.

Written by her great-niece, Jessica Douglas-Home, the book explores both Violet's contribution to the revival of early music and her remarkable private life. She became one of Britain's most celebrated performers on the harpsichord and clavichord, while defying many of the social expectations imposed on women of her Victorian and Edwardian background.
