Title:  Year Books of Richard II. 11 Richard II. 1387 to 1388

Language: English, French and Latin

Summary: The book reflects the maturation of the common law following Edward III’s reign. It demonstrates a legal culture deeply concerned with procedural regularity, foreshadowing later developments in common-law pleading. The reports also provide insight into the education of medieval lawyers, as the Year Books were used as teaching tools at the Inns of Court.
